going down the slide of life

For Joshua's birthday Kerry and I got him the "Swing-Along Castle". It basically a small swing set with a slid and climbing wall. He hasn't shown much interest in it until today, when he pretty much wore himself out going up and down the slide.

As I said earlier Kerry, Joshua, and I will be in Dallas from June 22-July 2. Obviously we would like to see as many people as possible which in the past has usually been a difficult feat to pull off. This year I thought I would go organized. I've shared a Google calendar describing our trip. Feel free to add events and see where we will be.

best present ever!

Recently CNN ran a story about an 11-year old boy who killed what was believed to be the largest wild pig ever. The animal weighed more than 1000 lbs and was more than 9 long. They have now uncovered that this pig was not wild but was raised on a farm in Alabama and recently sold to a couple who owned the property that it was killed on.

What really amazes me about this story isn't the pig but the story on how it was bought and sold. It was actually a Christmas gift from a husband to his wife.

Kerry and I have our 5-year anniversary coming up. I keep trying to imagine the scenario of me buying her a 1000 lb pig to show my love for her. Its hard to imagine the outcome but I'm pretty sure it would eliminate the need to purchase a 6-year anniversary present ;)

Coming Down South

We have just finalized our summer Dallas trip. The gang and I will be in Dallas, TX from Jun 22 to July 2. A few of those days we will be on other towns visiting family but overall we should be in the DFW area. If you are in town and want to see us (but probably just Joshua) then let us know. Both Kerry and I can't wait to have some vacation time!
